What's in Devorah Rose's Travel Bag?

Devorah Rose, editor-in-chief of Social Life Magazine, is always on the go from meetings, to parties, to beautiful locales. With such a hectic - but fun - lifestyle, Devorah has racked up a few must-haves for all of her travels...and now she’s sharing them with PORTMANTOS!

FAVORITE TRAVEL ESSENTIAL: The Bellagio V2.0 International Carry-On Spinner Trunk is the perfect carry on. It moves really well, which is very important to me.

FAVORITE TRAVEL APP: There are so many incredible photo journalists and bloggers on Instagram! Seeing photos of other travelers’ adventures always fuels my wanderlust.

FAVORITE TRAVEL READING: I’m a voracious reader, so I usually take three books with me. During a recent trip to Eze, I read Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys. The book plays with mythology, and the grounds of the Chevre d’Or (the hotel where I was staying) were full of bronzed, oversized fabled creatures. When you read the right book in the right place, you can feel completely transported! 

FAVORITE MUSIC: When I’m on the plane, I listen to London Grammar, Morrissey, and smoother artists. Once I land, it’s anything from LCD Soundsystem to GNR and Metallica.  

FAVORITE TRAVEL OUTFIT: Brunello Cucinelli is a must have for me. It’s the yummiest, most buttery cashmere coupled with style that is classic yet versatile. For me, it’s important to be comfortable when flying, but I also want to look my best.

FAVORITE BEAUTY ESSENTIAL: I really look at beauty from the inside out, so I would say water and a good vitamin regimen is key. That said, you’ll never catch me without Caudalie Beauty Elixir. 

FAVORITE SNACK ON-THE-GO: Tamari almonds and root vegetable chips keep me satisfied when on the run. 

FAVORITE TRAVEL ENTERTAINMENT: It depends on where I’m going. Travel is all about the journey and experience, so I’m always sure to take in local entertainment, whether its music, art, or dance. 

FAVORITE DESTINATION: I recently went to Bora Bora, which is the definition of heaven on earth. I highly recommend the Four Seasons Bora Bora - the concierge helped create daily excursions that made our time there truly memorable. I also loved my time in the South of France this year. There are so many amazing places on la Côte d’Azur. We visited Saint Tropez, Provence, Monaco, and Eze in twelve days. It’s impossible to pick a favorite destination! I can’t even pick one favorite spot in the Caribbean. Although, I can recommend you find time to discover Martinique and Peter Island.
